SMOKE – FREE
HOUSING NS
RESOURCES
Background
The Smoke-Free Housing NS resources were created to promote multi-unit housing with smoke-free indoor air.
While provincial laws provide Nova Scotians with protection from second-hand smoke where they work, eat, and play, many people continue to still be exposed to unwanted second-hand smoke where they live.
The Smoke-Free Housing NS resources were created to:
- Provide resources for tenants who are suffering from second-hand smoke coming into their homes from neighbouring unit.
- To encourage and assist landlords and property managers to create more smoke-free options for Nova Scotians living in rented apartments or other rented multi-unit housing.
